“The Kingdom” by Clive Cussler with Grant Blackwood
Series: Fargo Adventures

In “The Kingdom” Sam and Remi Fargo are called upon by a Texas oil baron to find their friend who had been previously employed the super rich and powerful man to find his father. Sam and Remi quickly discover that the man isn’t interested in finding his father, but rather what his father had been looking for when he disappeared.
The Fargos find themselves running for their lives while unraveling an ancient puzzle that could change what we know of evolution. Surviving gun fights, helicopter crashes and a wild balloon ride the Fargos keep us on the edge of our seats.
I very much enjoyed this book. I think I might be my favorite of the three I’ve read so far. I like that it didn’t start off as a treasure hunt, but rather a search and rescue mission. The story telling is fantastic. It’s a shame that Sam and Remi always seem to have to kill people. They seem like descent human beings, however, they don’t struggle with taking a life? Granted they do it in self defense, but you’d think real people would still take issue with murder.
I love that Cussler finds new ways to describe the reoccurring characters in each book.
The Sam and Remi Fargo adventures have yet to disappoint. More adventures to come. I’m already halfway through “The Tomb” the next book in the series.
I’ll give this another 4 1/2 stars out of 5.
