U.S. Attorney Richard Frohling of the Eastern District of Wisconsin has announced the sentencing by Senior U.S. District Judge William Griesbach of two men involved in fentanyl trafficking between Milwaukee and Manitowoc.
42-year-old Jabari Samuel of Milwaukee will spend the next 15 years in prison after being sentenced on January 6th. His accomplice, 32-year-old Anthony Martinez of Manitowoc was sentenced on December 20th to 9-1/2 years in prison for his role in the operation which was investigated by the Manitowoc Metro Drug Unit over the course of two months last summer.
According to court documents Martinez would obtain fentanyl from Samuel in Milwaukee every other day and transport it to Manitowoc for further distribution. A total of about 1 kilogram, or 2.2 pounds, of fentanyl was involved. An even larger amount of fentanyl, a Ruger firearm and over $17,000 cash were seized at Samuel’s Milwaukee residence. Both are repeat offenders.
