The legacy of a couple born during the Great Depression who went on to success following college educations will live on at Lakeshore College. The Eugene A. and Elsie E. Patterson Scholarship Fund was established with an initial $62,760.54 donation by Elsie in order to provide opportunities for students who demonstrate determination, perseverance, and a passion for learning. The fund will eventually total $150,000.
Eugene Patterson credits his education at UW-Madison for enabling his successful career as a salesman. Elsie followed her path as a mother raising their children with enrollment at the UW-Oshkosh where she graduated magna cum laude. The establishment of the scholarship fund, Elsie is honoring both her journey and Eugene’s legacy.
Applicants must be US Citizens who have completed at least two semesters of coursework at Lakeshore College who are experiencing financial challenges.
