Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies ended a pursuit with a high-risk traffic stop on Wednesday night, and two persons were arrested on numerous charges. The chase started just after 6:30 PM when Dodge County authorities requested help in stopping a vehicle that was northbound on I-41 beginning at the Highway 28 wayside. Deputies pursued the vehicle onto Highway 49 eastbound until terminating the chase as the suspects continued north on Fond du Lac County Road K.
A deputy later spotted them speeding at 96 MPH down the County Road, and picked up the chase when the squad’s lights and siren were ignored. The chase took a winding route and several attempts using stop-sticks failed, but the last one forced the suspects into a ditch at Highways K and V about two miles northwest of Eden where the car rolled over.
The two suspects needed help getting out of the vehicle and were evaluated for injuries at the scene and later treated at the hospital. The driver, a 23-year-old Menasha woman out on probation, and the 20-year-old male passenger from Milwaukee, are now facing multiple charges related to the chase and controlled substances found during a search.
