Sweet fancy MOSES this team on a Gold Medal Bender!

Just sluggin’ domestic beers and doing Toby Keith karaoke at clubs in Miami. Having had a fair amount of experience partying at the ‘hockey house’ during my time up at UWSP*, I know that hockey players are a different breed, but even by those standards I don’t think there’s enough blue Gatorade or Tylenol in the world that’s going to have them balanced out when NHL play resumes tomorrow night. Might need a mid-90’s Brett Favre cocktail just to shock themselves back to coherence!
And you know what? They’ve earned it. That gold medal game on Sunday morning was one of my favorite sports viewing experiences in a LONG time. And I’m not even that big of a hockey fan. But it was 10x the entertainment value of the Super Bowl this season. Plus, it was over by 9:30am! You had the whole day for activities (lunch, nap, deleting work emails sight unseen) afterwards. Win/win.
*It is remarkable the threshold hockey players have for physical pain and light beer. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s almost as if they don’t have that sensor in their brain. Like how some people lack empathy, or some people can’t read social cues, they just have an appetite for getting their teeth knocked out and then drinking 15 beers. Case in point, Quinn Hughes during the postgame press conference:

PS: I’m not sure where I stand on data centers, but if they’re cranking out videos like this I might be in support:
