The National Weather Service is out with advisories for cold weather in Wisconsin this weekend.
Bitter cold arctic air has begun entering the area, sending this morning’s lows into the single digits above zero. Today’s normal lows in Sheboygan should typically bottom out at around 20 degrees with normal highs reaching just above freezing. While no records are in danger of being broken, people are in danger of frostbite if caught outdoors unprepared.

NWS Graphic
A Cold Weather Advisory has been posted from midnight tonight until noon on Saturday. Temperatures will begin below zero with wind chills near 25 below at daybreak tomorrow. Not much warming will happen during the day, and brisk winds will keep wind chills colder than 20 below until sometime on Sunday. In those conditions, frostbite can happen on exposed skin in as little as a half hour.
Be sure to use caution while outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat and gloves, and keep an emergency kit in your vehicle if you’re traveling, including a warm blanket, extra water and snacks along with a cell phone charger and a first aid kit.
There should be a full tank of gas and you should also have the standard items like a snow scraper/brush, a shovel and some sand, and a set of jumper cables, just in case.
