One of Sheboygan’s largest and longest-lived manufacturers plans to expand its Sheboygan headquarters. Vollrath Company, which was founded in 1873, has announced plans to spend between 40 and 80 million dollars to upgrade and expand its headquarters according to BizTimes Milwaukee.
The regional business media publication said that documents submitted on December 1st to the Sheboygan Common Council call for establishment of a $1.6 million tax incremental district development agreement to support plans to build a new, 110,000 square-foot manufacturing facility as part of a “phased development” of its North 18th Street campus. That proposal was approved.
Taylor Zeinert, Sheboygan’s Director of Planning and Development, pointed to a two-fold benefit of both economic development, and supporting a longstanding partner.
Vollrath CFO Tina Kreidler said that the new project is critical in order to maintain a footprint in Sheboygan. The current facility was built in 1912.
