The Sheboygan Board of Police and Fire Commissioners will meet on Thursday to discuss actions to be taken in the wake of Circuit Court rulings concerning Sheboygan Police Lieutenant William Adams.
This past January, Adams had been appealing a suspension by his superiors. Wisconsin State Statutes quoted by Adams in his argument state that the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners must consider his appeal, and “if it determines that the charges (which were not disclosed in court documents) are not sustained, the accused, if suspended, shall be immediately reinstated and all lost pay restored.”
On Friday, October 10th, the Sheboygan County Circuit Court found in favor of Adams, stating that he will be getting back pay, and requested a 2-week hold order in advance to allow him to be put back into a lieutenant position. An order to the same would be submitted by the court on Monday, October 27th.
The Board of Police and Fire Commissioners will meet at 4 PM Thursday, go into closed session, and then reconvene in order to take appropriate actions.
