The phrase “Truth and Common Sense” was echoed several times on Monday morning as WHBL-1330 AM & 101.5 FM welcomed Steve Schroeder and Shannon Charles as the new on-air morning team. Steve and Shannon are no strangers to Midwest Communications as they come from sister operations in Green Bay.
Schroeder said his personal concept of “truth and common sense” began when his father told him that “If you tell the truth, you never have to remember what you said.”, a message that Steve said he & Shannon deliver “with a little bit of fun”.
Shannon said her Sheboygan roots run deep, with her mother, grandparents and great-grandparents hailing from the city, and she knows “the importance of a Sheboygan hardroll.”
Though they acknowledge that there is no replacing Kelly Meyer, who’s last day on the air before entering hospice care was July 23rd, both are excited to put their roots even deeper into the local ground, and are ready to “deliver the news, with a little bit of fun with it as well”, said Steve…as Shannon added: ”And don’t forget Truth and Common Sense”.
Steve & Shannon will be heard weekdays from 6 until 9 AM.
