A 28-year-old Minnesota man is in critical condition after intentionally jumping from a high railing while in jail.
Washington County Sheriff Martin Schulteis called in the East Central Wisconsin Sheriffs’ Investigation Team, which includes staff from Sheboygan and surrounding counties, for an independent, transparent investigation into the events.
Initial reports show that the inmate, jailed on a pending charge of 1st Degree Reckless Injury and Aggravated Battery, jumped from a top tier railing at around 8:05 PM Tuesday. He was immediately given medical care before being transported for treatment at a regional trauma center.
