Manitowoc Police have one person in custody following a fatal shooting early Tuesday morning.
Reports of a dispute between two men exchanging multiple gunshots just after 1:30 AM prompted 911 calls that sent Manitowoc Police to the 2400 block of Dewey Street. One of the shooters was still there and was arrested, but the other, after being struck, had been taken by a private party to the 1200 block of South 17th Street. Officers arrived there and immediately began life-saving measures, but those weren’t successful and the man was pronounced deceased.
The suspect was jailed and is awaiting charges from the Manitowoc County DA’s Office. The incident remains under investigation.
