A local company that specializes in personalized, enhanced hydration will represent Sheboygan in a million-dollar national contest in San Francisco.

Sum Hydration, founded by Tyler Hurd, was awarded first place in Accelerate Sheboygan County’s Startup World Cup Pitch Regional Competition on Monday night at the Weill Center. Besides the honor of representing Sheboygan at the 2025 Grand Finale in San Francisco, Sum Hydration also took the $2,000 first prize among the ten companies pitched, while the People’s Choice Award and $1,000 went to “Go with Rosie”, a family-friendly vacation planning venture led by Tyler Heilberger.

Justin Vanneiuwenhoven, emcee and Chair of the Sheboygan County Innovation Council, said that the competition proved that Sheboygan’s entrepreneurial spirit is alive and thriving. The event was sponsored by Carbliss, Wells Fargo, Associated Bank, and the SCEDC, with coordination support from Third Space Wellness.
