What could have been a much worse outcome was avoided, thanks to quick work by the Sheboygan Fire Department on Thursday morning.
At about 10:12 AM, crews responded to a report of a fire in the 2300 block of South 16th Streets, arriving within three minutes to find a single-family residence with heavy smoke and flames coming from the second story. Crews quickly deployed a hoseline and knocked down the fire from the exterior, limiting further damage before transitioning to an interior attack on the second floor.
