On @WISCTV_News3 ~ Jayden Reed doesn't have much interest in the timeline doctors recommend for recovering from a Jones fracture. Overjoyed to be back at practice on Tuesday, the #Packers leading receiver the past two years plans to play through the pain.https://t.co/i007LxTWuI

Welp.

Look, I’m as excited as anyone that Packer season starts next weekend. I’m optimistic about a lot of things on this team! I like the direction of the defense in year two of Jeff Hafley, Matthew Golden seems to be living up to the first round hype, Josh Jacobs should be even better in his second year in Green Bay, etc.
But I’d be lying if I said that the amount of injuries the team has sustained before they’ve even played a single snap that matters isn’t concerning. Jordan Love is still recovering from that injury to his non-throwing thumb, Aaron Banks hasn’t been practicing, Dontayvion Wicks and Romeo Doubs have missed practice, Elgton Jenkins is dealing with a nagging back injury, and now this news about Jayden Reed.
Look I’ll defer to my doctor wife when I talk to her later today* about how realistic it is that Jayden Reed not only play through this injury, but play well, but this doesn’t sound ideal. I think we can all appreciate the toughness from Reed, and we know this is a BIG year for him with a potentially massive extension looming next offseason, but I wonder if it isn’t a better idea to just get whatever surgery he needs to get and come back 100% in November. Again, I’m a simple internet blogger, not a doctor or NFL player, but this feels like something that is going to be nagging him ALL season if he doesn’t get it addressed.

Simple!
*Me to my wife the second she walks in the door after treating patients for 11 hours: “I know you’re tired but I need a diagnosis on an injury STAT. Millions of lives are in the balance.”
PS: Has Reed considered seeing this podiatrist?
