The months-long efforts to rebuild Highways 28 and 32 in Sheboygan County are progressing, but both still have considerable time before completion.
Highway 28 remains closed even as the bridge in Cascade has been mostly completed. The project’s repaving between the south county line and the Village of Waldo will continue this week with the final lift of asphalt underway from now until the second week of September.
Highway 32 is now closed between Sheboygan Falls and Cedar Grove. This will allow workers to work on the final box culvert in the project just south of County Highway “N” near Ourtown Road where structure excavation continues this week along with a stream diversion. At the same time, crews will remove the forms from the box culvert just south of County G at Cedar Grove.
Closure of 32 for the length of the project will continue, but the portion between “V” and Cedar Grove will open once work on that stretch is completed. Work on the segment between “V” and Sheboygan Falls is expected to take until the end of October.
Meanwhile, DOT maintenance crews will be conducting ditch work on westbound Highway 23 between Julie Court and County Highway “A” at Greenbush daily this week through Thursday between 6 AM and 4 PM, with lane closures used to control traffic flow around the site.
