High waves and winds caused the postponement of the Superstock race within the P1 Offshore Mercury Midwest Challenge on Saturday, but race organizers have decided to go forward with running that race today, despite threatening weather.
On Saturday, the first two rounds went as planned, however increasing waves with swells reported as high as 8 feet made conditions too dangerous for the high-speed watercraft competition and the Superstock race was postponed. On Sunday, shortly after 8 AM, organizers posted on their facebook page:
“Let’s try that again…SUPERSTOCK races TODAY (Sunday) at 12:45PM CST…” The Sheboygan Police Department also posted at 8 AM: “Good morning Sheboygan! P1 is planning on conducting races as scheduled today — weather dependent. Lightning and low visibility will cancel or delay the races, but they will race in the rain. The event at King Park will open again between 11 AM and 5:30 PM.”

The SPD indicated that any changes due to weather will be posted on their facebook site.
Following the opening ceremony, races 7 through 11 will be conducted with the awards ceremony scheduled for 6 PM.
