
American Red Cross Blood Drive
The American Red Cross wants your blood – that’s the simple message; the fact is that stable supplies require dependable donations, something that can be hard to maintain during a busy summer. Type “O” donors are especially key to keeping critical blood products on hospital shelves into August, but all types are encouraged to donate.
The Red Cross said that even a strong supply can experience a sudden drop, putting the lives of new mothers, burn and trauma patients, and those facing cancer at risk. To encourage more donations, those giving by July 31st will receive a Fandango Movie Reward by email. Those donating during August will receive a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of choice. As a bonus, the Red Cross will perform a free A1C testing, commonly used to screen for both diabetes and pre-diabetes, limited to one testing per 12-month period.
