A new living option for seniors needing additional care for everyday life has opened in the western Sheboygan County Village of Beechwood. Co-founders Danielle Beining and Keri Grotelueschen are opening their second such assisted living community known as “Compassionate Heights”, offering compassionate, personalized care to local seniors, while also creating new jobs for the area.
The two began their caregiver careers in West Bend when they opened their first Compassionate Heights location six years ago. The Beechwood location was established with help from the Small Business Development Center at UW-Green Bay, the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation, and Sheboygan County’s Revolving Loan Fund. Danielle Beining said that the existing building required significant renovations in order to meed the required standards, and that would’ve been impossible without the assistance.
Compassionate Heights runs on an “age in place” philosophy that enables residents to remain in a consistent and familiar environment, even as their needs change. The new location has drawn strong backing and volunteer interest from the Beechwood community, and will bring more than 20 employment opportunities to the area.
