An early Monday morning crisis in Manitowoc was eventually resolved, but not until after SWAT and Crisis Negotiating Teams got involved.
The 1 a.m. call on Monday morning drew City of Manitowoc Police and the two specialty teams to the 1300 block of South 9th Street where a perimeter was established. Attempts to peacefully resolve the situation with the 55-year-old Manitowoc man who barricaded himself inside were exhausted, leading to a forced entry into the home. Once inside, members of the SWAT Team were able to take the man into custody without further incident.
The man is now in jail on charges of Fleeing and Eluding an Officer, 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Resisting an Officer and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
