The Sheboygan Police Department wants Sheboygan pet owners to ensure their pet licenses are up-to-date.
The usual sales that would have begun several months ago had to be delayed due to the data breach experienced last fall, which rendered much of the City’s data infrastructure out-of-order for an extended time. Without that system operating, the City decided to put off issuing those licenses initially until January 1. The SPD is now reminding people to make sure they’re current with licensing each dog, cat and potbellied pig they have. Those licenses are valid from January 1 through December 31st this year, and you’ll need a current rabies certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian to obtain them.
Owners of multiple pets might need a pet fancier’s license aside from the individual tags. Application forms are available online and can be either mailed or turned in at City Hall. Details are available through this link.
