I cannot wait to talk to Brook Lopez about this after the game. https://t.co/tezqeW81ZW

We’ve been pounding out drivel on this blog now for almost two decades*, but the interesting thing about being an internet jester is that you almost always end up typing sentences you never thought you would. As soon as I got done typing in that subject title I had one of those blogging moments where I went, ‘huh?’ Conor McGregor, at a Bucks game, in UTAH, ends up standing toe-to-toe with Brook Lopez during an NBA game. Mmmmhm. Okay.
Now you might think that even with his size disadvantage, McGregor would be able to take Brook due to his decades of formal training in combat sports and mixed martial arts. Not so fast my friend! Let’s not forget that Brook Lopez has been in a donnybrook or two himself:
I would imagine McGregor to be a stiffer challenge than Benny the Bull, but it felt worth noting that Brook Lopez can throw hands if need be.
Semi-related: The Jazz are a terrible team, but last night was a nice win for the Bucks. Dame/Giannis/Middleton combining for 97 points on a collective 69% (nice) shooting for the evening was a fun watch. Particularly as it relates to Middleton. He had a ROUGH game in Los Angeles on Saturday night. Looked like he hadn’t played basketball in two years with the way he was moving. Luckily that appears to have just been rust since he didn’t play at all last week, as he was able to put up 22 points on 10/13 shooting last night. The trade deadline is next week Thursday, I expect the Bucks will make ‘a’ move, not sure how big it will be, but if they do take a bigger swing (Butler, Zack LaVine) it feels pretty likely that Middleton would be involved in that potential deal. It’s going to be an interesting week and a half.
PS: Conor in his prime was one of the most wildly entertaining characters in UFC history:
