A former Sheboygan man will be spending the next 25 years in federal prison after being sentenced on charges of Child Sexual Assault as a repeat offender. 49-year-old Robert D. Nytes was given a 300 month sentence on Friday by Senior US District Judge William Griesbach.
Nytes, currently living in Manitowoc, was reported in August of 2023 as having repeatedly sexually assaulted a minor and using the child to create pornography which he then uploaded to the cloud for receipt on his various electronic devices. Nytes plead guilty to the charges when arraigned. Judge Griesbach called the crimes “horrendous”, and given Nytes’ history, called the 300-month sentence “fair and just.”
Nytes was first convicted of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child in Sheboygan County in 1995 when he was 19 years old and sentenced to 8 years in state prison while being registered for life on the sexual offender list. He’ll be 74 years old when he completes his most recent sentence and then spend the remainder of his life on supervised release.
