Results are coming in from the recent “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign against impaired driving during the holidays. The effort is nationwide in scope, and many local law enforcement agencies chose to participate fully.
One of those is the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office. Between December 11th and New Year’s Day, Sheriff’s officers there made 13 arrests for driving under the influence, and while the focus was on impaired driving, 418 traffic stops were also made with 192 citations issued for offenses ranging from speeding, to operating after revocation and suspension.
Sheboygan County Sheriff Matt Spence reported that his officers made 15 OWI arrests during that same time. Sheriff Spence said that his office wasn’t able to conduct a specific detail to address the campaign, but rather the regular and vigilant operations by the patrol generated appropriate results.
