A registered nurse working in the critical care and cardiac care units at Aurora Medical Center – Sheboygan County has been named that organization’s “2024 Nurse of the Year”. The award recognizes Taylor Vogel’s “exemplary demonstration of Aurora Health Care’s core nursing values and unwavering delivery of best-in-class care.”
The award was announced on Tuesday by Jane Dus, the Senior VP and Chief Nursing Officer of Advocate Health – Midwest Region, who said it is a “true honor to witness the remarkable impact (Advocate Health nurses) make in transforming lives through innovative and compassionate care every day.”
Taylor Vogel has worked at Aurora Health Care for nearly five years and currently serves as a lead RN in the Critical Care and Cardiac Unit. As chair of the Cardiac and Critical Care Unit Professional Governance Council, she advocates for patient rights and pushes for improvements that benefit both patients and teammates. Vogel also mentors new nurses through their transition into practice, and also emphasizes her focus on maintaining high standards of care through her role as “Patient Safety Champion.” Vogel was among 20 nurses honored by Aurora, with nominations and selections made by their peers.
