A reputation for selling winning lottery tickets has further solidified the reputation of Fond du Lac’s so-called “miracle mile”. The latest example was the $50,000 Powerball ticket sold by Hansen’s BP on West Johnson Street for the January 4th drawing, and while not exactly on the South Main Street stretch known as the “miracle mile”, it is nearby and already has an impressive record.
Besides the latest jackpot, over the past seven years Hansen’s BP has sold three Badger-5 tickets worth a cumulative $94,000; two $350,000 Super Cash drawings, a $1 million Powerball ticket and a $100,000 Scratch ticket. The retailer incentive also meant a cool “grand” for Hansen’s BP…that’s 2-percent of Saturday’s $50,000 main award.
As the “big prize” wasn’t given away on either Saturday or last night, the jackpot for Wednesday’s Powerball drawing will be worth an estimated $240 million.
