The first snowstorm of the season is pretty much in-the-books after depositing around a half foot and more on Sheboygan County, with some 30 vehicles going off area roadways as a result.
After light snow made for hazardous roads by noon, the real push of snow fell later in the day, with the airport reporting just under 5” by 9 p.m…but there was more to come overnight. Snow continued solidly through around 3 a.m. Friday, leaving at least a half foot for most of the county to clear up, while some locations recorded more than 8” on the ground.
National Weather Service forecasters in Milwaukee expected little more than snow showers remaining, although they will serve to maintain slippery conditions until mostly sunny skies develop this afternoon. Temperatures will likely remain below freezing until Monday while wind chills dip below zero on Saturday night. And with only light precipitation before midweek, a White Christmas appears to be guaranteed.
