A Port Washington woman is in the Manitowoc County Jail following a series of events early this Wednesday morning.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office became involved at 5:14 a.m. after receiving a report of an entry to a home on County Highway “S” north of US 151 as well as a vehicle in the ditch. Shortly after, a white Ford Transit Van was reported stolen from another nearby home on Highway “S”. Deputies initially responding to the scene located a vehicle matching that of the one stolen traveling on “S”. Officers signaled the driver, a 39-year-old Port Washington woman, to stop; however disregarded those orders and eventually collided with a vehicle eastbound on Highway 10 east of Hickory Hills Road. The 25-year-old man driving the Rav4 and his passenger, a 19-year-old woman, both from Manitowoc County, were injured and transported by ambulance for treatment. The Port Washington woman was not injured. She was arrested and now faces charges of Knowingly Fleeing an Officer, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent, Recklessly Endangering Safety, Hit and Run Causing Injury, and Resisting Arrest.
