Sheboygan City Hall is apparently having issues with its data infrastructure, and there’s evidence that it could be the result of an intentional act.
Reports of problems have been circulating for nearly a week, with more than one City employee in-the-know relating similar stories. The depth of the problem isn’t known at this time, but those same reports suggest that the problems began after the firing of one of the City’s network administrators last week, affecting email and other important programs.
Then on Wednesday, an Emergency First Special Common Council Meeting was called for 5:30 last evening in the form of a closed session. The agenda identified the matter at hand to concern “potential action to protect the security of the city’s information technology infrastructure”…as well as “conferring with legal counsel for the city who is rendering advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the body with respect to litigation in which it is likely to become involved.”
WHBL News has reached out to City Administrator Casey Bradley for comment and will follow up when we hear back.
