DENVER, CO (WHBL) – Jake Cave hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Colorado Rockies beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-7 at Coors Field on Monday night.
The Brewers scored three runs to take a brief lead in the eighth inning before dropping the first game of a four-game series.
William Contreras finished with three hits, including a home run, and Jackson Chourio drove in two runs for the Crew, who have dropped two-of-three. Willy Adames had three hits, including an RBI single to ignite that three-run eighth that put the Brewers back in front 7-6.
Brenton Doyle was 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI to lead the Rockies. Charlie Blackmon also homered.
The Rockies have won two in-a-row.
Game two of the series is set for Tuesday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 7:05.
