National figure, Independent Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, will be in Sheboygan on Thursday to rally to build the power of the working class, and raise awareness of the need to fight against billionaire and corporate interests ahead of this year’s general election.
The independent from Vermont became a popular national figure when he ran for the Democratic Presidential nomination against Hillary Clinton in 2016, and garnered a substantial protest vote against her.
Sheboygan’s visit is the second of six scheduled between now and Saturday in Wisconsin. Sanders will appear in a Town Hall-style meeting at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Emil Mazey Hall at UAW Local 833 on Superior Avenue, where the doors will open at 11 a.m.
The announcement promised free food and live musical performances by Tim Kinsella, Walt Hamburger and Carriage House.
