Unlocked vehicles have been targeted in southeastern Manitowoc County this week. Manitowoc County Sheriff’s officials say the crimes occurred early Wednesday morning in the Town of Newton around Highway LS and Northeim Lane, or about 6 miles north of the Village of Cleveland. Thieves entered several unlocked vehicles, taking currency and other various items, and also stole a truck described as a red, 2007 Chevy Colorado with Wisconsin license number GF3370.
Authorities are asking anyone living in the Towns of Newton and Manitowoc to check any surveillance cameras that may have recorded suspicious activity during that time, and to also check property for entry or theft and to contact local authorities or the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office with any information. And they also remind people to always lock their vehicles and remove valuables when leaving them unattended.
