The warm-weather season is rapidly approaching, and that means that it’s time to plan for some of that season’s favorite events. First up: Memorial Day weekend, which is now just six weeks away, and that has the City of Sheboygan organizing its first celebration of the summer.
The traditional parade takes place Memorial Day Monday at 9 a.m., honoring veterans and active duty service members, but especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom. The parade stays within the downtown and ends at Fountain Park where a solemn ceremony gives formal tribute to those being honored, with remarks given by distinguished guest speaker, Chief Boatswain’s Mate Roberto Bobonis of the US Coast Guard.
And as in any other truly Sheboygan celebration, you’re guaranteed a Brat Fry – this one right at Fountain Park immediately after the parade with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Military and Youth Foundation and Marine Corps League.
The celebration is being sponsored by the Kohler Credit Union, and organized with the help of Launch: Lakeland Student-Run Businesses.
