30 chickens were lost when fire struck a barn in rural western Sheboygan County on Thursday.
A 9-1-1 call came into Sheboygan County Emergency Dispatch shortly after 5 p.m. reporting one of three barns on the property on Chickadee Drive in the Town of Greenbush was on fire, threatening to spread to the others. Sheboygan County Deputies said that when they arrived the building was fully engulfed in flames.
Fire Departments from Greenbush, Plymouth, Cascade, Elkhart Lake, Glenbeulah, St. Cloud, Mt. Calvary and St. Anna teamed up to extinguish the blaze while Glenbeulah First Responders and Orange Cross Ambulance stood by, but were not needed as there were no injuries. No other buildings were damaged,
A faulty heat lamp was blamed for the fire, which resulted in the total loss of the structure.
