A program that began with a group of celebrated stage, TV and film figures has been growing in Wisconsin for nearly ten years, and is now the Sheboygan area, helping to fill the need for mental health care for youth and families.
The Production Farm was expanded into rural Manitowoc County in 2014 by actor and Sheboygan native Wyatt Kuether in honor of his late friend and fellow founding mentor Robert Goldberg. The program has now grown to include a facility in Sheboygan Falls that will celebrate its grand opening in a series of events July 28th and 29th.
In announcing the opening, Kuether said that the space at 621 Broadway in Sheboygan Falls was purchased in the spring of ‘22 after seeing the need for services growing “exponentially”, and the organization is “thrilled” to share its vision of what it calls “re-imagined mental health care.”
That care is called “trauma-informed” care that pays attention to the person and their unique experiences, and works to establish productive strategies to cope with, process, and move past trauma.
The festivities kick off on Friday the 28th with a 3:15 p.m. ribbon-cutting, while the public will be welcomed on Saturday the 29th with a family-friendly community carnival from noon until 4. Those wanting more information can visit theproductionfarm.com
