Two Manitowoc women were sentenced to spend time in federal prison after being convicted on drug charges in the U.S. District Court – Eastern District of Wisconsin. The Manitowoc Metro Drug Unit was assisted in both cases by the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, U.S. Marshals Service, Greenfield Police Department and the United States Attorney’s Office.
31-year-old Ashley Schroeder was sentenced to four years in prison followed by eight years of supervised release for her conviction of Conspiracy to Distribute Fentanyl, while 34-year-old Amanda Adelmann will have to spend four years in prison followed by six years of supervised release on the same charge.
Both cases stem from an investigation by the Metro Drug Unit which conducted surveillance and interviews that revealed that Ashley Schroeder was obtaining Fentanyl from the Milwaukee area and distributing it to numerous individuals in and around Manitowoc. Schroeder admitted to traveling 2-3 times per week from July of 2020 until September of 2021, moving an estimated 300 and 800 grams of Fentanyl. Amanda Adelmann was identified as a co-conspirator with Schroeder, leading to charges against her.
The investigations led to multiple Milwaukee area Fentanyl drug suppliers, resulting in still more federal charges, and seizures of a kilogram of Fentanyl and multiple firearms.
