I wouldn’t say I’m an expert by any stretch, but I did take four psych courses during my time at the Harvard of Central Wisconsin: UWSP. And during one of those courses, I learned about the term, ‘ebullition.’ Ebullition is something therapists look for in patients, a quiet bubbling under the surface despite someone maintaining that ‘everything is fine’ outwardly. Eventually this leads to a random blowup that is completely out of character for said person. So with that in mind, and in trying to justify the thousands of dollars my parents spent on my education only for me to become an internet blogger, I would say that Davante Adams was ebullition-ing pretty hard last night after another loss for the Raiders, dropping them to 1-4 on the season.
Now Davante did have a good game. A really good game, actually. Only 3 catches, but 125 yards and 2 touchdowns. But the Raiders decided to go for two when they could have tied the game and didn’t convert, and as they were driving again late, they ended up in a 4th and 1 situation, and on that play Davante and Hunter Renfrow simply collided with each other:
Whoops! This eventually led to the Davante ‘collision’ with the cameraman at the end of the game. Now to be fair to Davante, that camera angle makes him look BAD. But this one not as much:

The first angle almost makes it look like Davante goes out of his way to light up the cameraman. The other angle makes it look like the cameraman tried to run right in front of Davante, like a deer on a highway during fall in Wisconsin, and Davante has a knee-jerk reaction to just throw his arms out.
Either way, it ain’t good. Davante hasn’t had a bad season individually by any stretch, but he’s not accustomed to 1-4 starts and being in must-win games already in mid-October. You wonder if he could click his cleats together and redo that offseason decision if he would stay in Green Bay. Lord knows we’d welcome him back.
Anyway, I would guess a fine is on the way, probably not a suspension. But if I’m that camera guy I’m showing up to NFL HQ today looking like Bobby the Brain Heenan:

Bring your best Jackie Chiles lawyer with you and see what you can get out of an organization that nets $11 billion per year.
PS: I had a few texters on our station line yesterday and today asking if I think the Packers are a playoff team. I mean, guys. Let’s step back from the ledge a bit. Sunday was frustrating. It was maddening. But it’s about to be Week 6 and the Packers are 3-2. They’re not 1-4, they’re not 0-5. This team will be in the playoffs. Relax.
