In “The Tombs,” adventurers Sam and Remi Fargo are called upon by an archaeologist friend who discovered an ancient battlefield. The discovery reveals clues to finding the hidden tomb of Attila the Hun. They find themselves in a race across Asia and Europe to find the clues to not one but five tombs filled with treasures Attila acquired during his conquests before a ruthless Hungarian who claims to be a descendant of Attila himself, a Russian business man and a French business partner. This team of bad guys will stop at nothing to get their hands on the treasures. Even after Sam and Remi turn the treasures over to the authorities these three remain a threat and put Sam and Remi, their team and home in grave danger.
Another good Fargo adventure. I like that the story didn’t just end with them handing over the treasure. The bad guys were out for revenge and they took it to the Fargos at home. The story keeps you at the edge of your seat and you can’t wait to see what the next clue reveals.
I just love Sam and Remi so much. I love that they are equally smart in different ways. So often you see teams of characters where one is the hero and the other is the sidekick, but not with Sam and Remi. They have so much love and respect for each other and they really rely on each other to succeed. In this book Remi gets kidnapped, but she is not some damsel in distress waiting for her prince to rescue her. While she is held hostage she uses the training she did with Sam to help her in her escape. Even though Sam finds her and helps her escape it is the things that she did prior to Sam’s arrival that gets them out alive.
“The Tombs” is another 4 1/2 out of 5 from me.
Stay tuned for another Fargo Adventure review coming soon, “The Mayan Secrets.”
