The results of the State DNR’s 2022 Spring Hearing questions have been released. The annual Spring Hearing gives the public the chance to give input on a wide array of questions from the DNR, the Natural Resources Board and the Conservation Congress.
In Sheboygan County most questions were answered in the affirmative, but there were several “no’s” and also differences between those who live here, and those who just recreate within the county.
Among the majority “no” answers from residents, subjects included whether to allow another review of impacts of the crossbow season on the deer hunt, a return to backtags for hunters, fees and posting of ownership information on canoes and kayaks, the banning of dogs in wolf hunts, and on banning all wildlife killing contests.
No decisions have yet been made on the survey questions. Results will be used to guide formation of rules and regulations on outdoor activities and management in the coming months.
