Over $29,000 has been granted to a group of area farmers by the Wisconsin Department of Ag, Trade and Consumer Protection. $29,225 was awarded to The Sheboygan River Progressive Farmers to help its efforts to protect the quality of the Sheboygan River Watershed.
The award was part of a larger $1 million statewide program that aims to improve Wisconsin’s soil and water quality by supporting and advancing producer-led conservation solutions that increase farmer participation in the efforts.
Seven recipients were new to the grant program, but the Sheboygan River Progressive Farmers were among previous recipients of the grant, which is now in its seventh round of awards since its inception in 2015.
