I can’t stop listening to the first part of that response. ‘I think he’s a bum, he’s an absolute bum.’ You know what word doesn’t get used enough in society today? Bum. I hadn’t really thought about that word in decades, but when Aaron said it yesterday I made an internal vow to work the word ‘bum’ back into everyday vernacular. The person that didn’t put their shopping cart back in the corral? Bum. The person driving 67mph in the left lane on I-43? BUM. The guy hosting the morning show on B93?? BUM! It’s such a versatile insult.
Anyway the war between Rodgers and Hub Arkush continued what those comments yesterday. For his part, Hub issued the most non-apology apology of all time, saying he was sorry for stating out loud his rationale for not voting for Aaron, while also taking shots at small town internet bloggers like yours truly:
“I’ve apparently unleashed a small army of self-styled social media and talk radio experts who have no clue what they’re talking about to challenge the quality of the voting process and would attempt to invalidate any vote or thought process that doesn’t agree with their own.”
BUM!
Anyway, I think we’ve reached the end of this feud. Rodgers will win the MVP, some people with agree with Hub’s take, a lot of people will disagree with it, and eventually the internet will move on to some other innocuous debate. ‘It’s the cirrrrcccclllle of liiiiiffeeeeeee.’
PS: It does sound like Matt LaFleur plans to play his guys in Detroit this weekend. ‘We’re going to Detroit to win a football game.’ I still think discretion is the better part of valor as it relates to playing Aaron Rodgers, aka the biggest jerk in the league, in a meaningless game, but I trust that Matt LaFleur knows his team a lot better than I do. I will say this: Vegas is VERY skeptical of how the Packers will approach this game given that the line is Packers -4. If they truly believed the Packers were going to go all out, the line would probably be about -13 or -14. Vegas to Matt LaFleur:
