35 more confirmed positive tests were logged since Thursday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, raising to 15,552 the number of cases recorded here during the pandemic. With 26 recoveries in the same period, the number of active cases of COVID-19 rose to 614.
Broken down by age groups, 666 cases were among those age 0-9 years, 1,676 were between 10-19, 2,613 were in their 20s, 2,596 were in their 30s, 2,272 were in their 40s, 2,497 were in their 50s, 1,759 were in their 60s, 882 were in their 70s, and 591 were 80 or older when they became infected with the coronavirus.
Another two persons were admitted to Sheboygan County hospitals for treatment of their COVID-19 symptoms, while one was discharged, resulting in a current patient population of 10. 777 persons in all have had to be treated in hospitals in the county.
New data from the CDC has raised the rate of transmission of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County. Remaining in the “high” category, the case rate went from 279.17 cases per 100,000 persons on Thursday to 302.58 on Friday. The percent positivity of COVID-19 tests over the last 7 days has averaged 10.8%.
37 more persons in Sheboygan County have received at least one dose of vaccine since Thursday, putting that total at 63,376 – or 54.9% of the population. 105 more have completed their series of vaccinations in the last day, and 60,378, or 52.3%, are now fully vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
