The number of fully vaccinated individuals in Sheboygan County exceeded 60,000 on Tuesday, with 60,059 persons immunized according to data from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. That’s 51.2% of the county population and 78 more than on Monday. 54.8%, or 63,231 persons, have received at least one dose, a 1-day increase of 35.
Active cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County jumped 69 cases in one day, reaching the current 585 cases, roughly the same as the last week in January. Current hospitalizations remain unchanged since Monday at 10 patients.
Facility-wide investigations by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health are now underway at 15 educational facilities, more than double last week’s tally of six.
The County DPH says that this involves action taken when there are two or more epi-linked cases of COVID-19 within a school student, staff or faculty, and will remain open until two maximum incubation periods (14 days) have passed since the last possible exposure to a COVID-19 case in the facility without any new cases. The Wisconsin National Guard will once again provide free community testing in the parking lot of the Aging and Disability Resource Center at 650 Forest Avenue in Sheboygan Falls beginning Wednesday, September 22nd. Testing will be repeated on Wednesday the 29th. No appointment is needed for the sessions conducted between 10 AM and 6 PM, however pre-registration is recommended online at register.covidconnect.wi.gov.
