After a more than year-long shutdown due to the pandemic, Sheboygan’s Above & Beyond Children’s Museum will reopen on Thursday. Executive Director Jackie Erdman announced the reopening, saying that they’re excited to return to supporting children and families, and to help them feel comfortable and safe in our indoor spaces once again.
Along with the reopening, Above & Beyond is launching the new “Play is Healing” campaign, a full-fledged, county-wide wellness initiative that offers unique special events and programming, teaming up with Mental Health America, YMCA of Sheboygan County and the Sheboygan Recreation Department along with Christopher Farm & Gardens, Mead Public Library, Road America, Dare to Dream Theatre and the Plymouth Recreation Department. Above and Beyond also announced that it will soon offer an ADA-accessible outdoor playground in the greenspace adjacent to the museum called the “Purple Octopus Playground”, designed around the mural on the museum’s north wall.
