(WHBL) – For the nearly 200 Lakeshore Technical College students to be awarded degrees and technical diplomas on December 19, their experience will bear the unmistakable mark of the pandemic, but the institution has gone to great lengths to make the commencement one to remember. A virtual event will stream on LTC’s Facebook page and YouTube Channel next week Saturday at 10 AM, followed by a drive-through event on the college’s Cleveland Campus from 11 AM to 1 PM.
LTC President Dr. Paul Carlsen said that this class of December graduates have successfully overcome more obstacles than any class before them, and that he and the staff are honored to have been part of their educational journeys.
One unique adjustment is how to get that graduation photo with the family. That will be done as a drive-through in the LTC Automotive Technology Center, where the large building will provide physical distancing, a backdrop for the photos, and personal congratulations from academic deans, leadership team members and district board members. All buildings on Lakeshore’s Cleveland campus will be open from 11 AM untill 2 PM, and academic deans will be in their respective areas to congratulate students, who are welcome to take photos.
