IT'S IN THE HOLE!
If you're a golfer, you feel a mix of emotions hearing about a story like this: 1) Obviously happy for this kiddo that he gets to enjoy something that not everyone gets to enjoy in their lifetime. That's the clear cut, #1 take. Buuuuuuuuut, in a not so distant second place: I kind of hate this kid a little. Trust me, I don't want to feel that way. Saying you kind of hate a 5 year old kid on the internet is NOT a good look. But if you've golfed for the better part of three decades and never gotten a hole in one, it's hard not to feel some spite. But that spite comes from a good place, if that makes sense.
Anyway, good for William Kelly for getting to enjoy at 5 years old what I will likely never enjoy for the rest of my life. Enjoy it!
PS: Pretty awesome that he did it with a 7 iron:
Double PS: My mom and I used to golf quite a bit when I was in high school/college. She actually did knock in a hole-in-one on the 9th hole at Evergreen in Plymouth. She caught the lip of the green and it rolled in from 89 yards! We were stunned. In classic humble German fashion, she then took the ball and had it made into a trophy that served as our Thanksgiving centerpiece for the better part of 10 years.
