SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) – With a statewide order to stay at home unless necessary, local law enforcement has been busy dealing with residents nervous about being stopped by law enforcement. Their response: Don’t worry. We won’t be stopping people to determine if they should or shouldn’t be away from their homes.
Sheboygan County Sheriff Cory Roesler took to Facebook to assure the public not to be concerned and he, along with Sheboygan County’s Police Chiefs, issued a joint communique saying that law enforcement agencies don’t want people to panic over the Governor’s Safer At Home directive.
They stated that, quote: “Our Officers and Deputies WILL NOT be stopping random people to determine if they should or should not be away from their homes. You still are allowed to go get groceries, medications, and head to doctor appointments. We will continue to work with our citizens to ensure everyone’s safety.“
They also encouraged the support of local restaurants, many of whom now offer curbside delivery.
