Megadeth
leader and founder Dave Mustaine has been diagnosed with throat cancer, breaking
the news of his diagnosis earlier today via his social media.
Summerfest
officials announced Monday that the concert at the American Family Insurance
Amphitheater on July 4
th
with Megadeth and special guests Papa
Roach, Pop Evil, and Badflower has been canceled due to Mustaines announcement.
The Megadeth show was already a replacement for the originally scheduled July 4
th
Ozzy Osbourne show, which was postponed to July 1 of 2020 after Ozzy injured
himself in a fall at his home earlier this year. Summerfest added they will not
reschedule another show for July 4
th
in the American Family
Insurance Amphitheater this year, marking the the first time ever they will not have a headlining act for July 4th.
Refunds are available at the point of purchase for people who have already purchased tickets for Megadeth's show.
