'Someone moved into the Clickner place,' and that person could be you! Apparently the house that Ann Margaret's character moved into in the movie Grumpy Old Men is for sale:
For the low low price of $249,000 you could live in a house featured in a movie that, in this blogger's opinion, was the pinnacle of cinema. Honestly, I've thought a lot about this question: One movie to watch on a loop for the rest of your life. You only get one. Anytime you want to watch a movie, THAT is the movie you have to watch. Obviously a lot of people are going to go with the quote/unquote 'classics.' The Godfather, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Citizen Kane, Con Air, etc. But not me. I don't want a three hour movie that makes me think. If I only get one movie for the rest of my life, hand to God I think I'm taking either Grumpy or Grumpier Old Men. They're quick, 90-95 minute movies, they're funny, they're crude, they're easy to follow, they consistently entertain me no matter how many times I watch them. Ultimately I think I give Grumpier Old Men a slight edge over the original. The added dynamic of Sophia Loren and Burgess Merrideth's soliloquy about bacon put it over the top. Official selection in the 'one movie for the rest of your life' debate: Grumpier Old Men. I will not be taking questions at this time.
PS: Clearly we live in a different culture in 2019 than we did when these movies came out in 1993-1995. I've gone back and forth as to whether or not these movies would 'fly' in today's culture. Ultimately I think they would hold up but there would likely be HEAVY editing of the dialog. Like when you see a rated R movie on TBS and they have to edit everything out and it ends up being almost an entirely different film.
Double PS: You know what I love about

on this house being for sale? It sounds like the man who owned it, John Halfen II, was VERY similar to the characters in the movie. He lived in the house for 7 decades, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, his wife at the time thought he spent too much time with Ann Margaret while they were filming the movie, he sounds like he would have fit right in the movie. Wouldn't have shocked me one bit if him and Burgess were sharing plates of bacon for a midday snack.
