Live look at me listening to a fired up Aaron Rodgers respond to the inflammatory/sensationalized article written by Tyler Dunne on Bleacher Report about the feud between him and Mike McCarthy:
LET'S GO!
Now I think we addressed the Bleacher Report article in the 'PS' of a Brewer blog last week. If you want to read a 20,000 word article (TL, DR) that is sounding more and more like a work of fiction as the days go by, click the link
here
.
Like we talked about last week, there really wasn't any 'new' information despite that article being longer than War & Peace (alternative title,
'War, What is It Good for?'
). It attempted to add more dimension to the Rodgers/McCarthy feud (Rodgers said that McCarthy had the 'lowest IQ' of any coach he's ever had, McCarthy was getting back massages instead of going to team meetings, Rodgers couldn't get past the fact that McCarthy was on the 49er staff that drafted Alex Smith in 2005, McCarthy was mentally checked out the last few years of his tenure, Rodgers wouldn't text McCarthy back despite there being a clear 'read' receipt on the text, McCarthy used Rodgers' drum set even though he was told not to blah blah blah), but at the end of the day, the thesis was, 'Rodgers and McCarthy didn't eye to eye all of the time.' In the words of 12 year old me, no doi. Everyone knew that. It was pretty apparent if you watched even a minute of any game last season. Their relationship at the end of their run made Jerry and Newman look like best friends in Seinfeld.
Anyway, as you might expect, Aaron Rodgers had a few things to say on the matter when he sat down with Jason Wilde and Mark Tauscher yesterday for an hour long podcast. A few of the clips are attached above. He basically refutes everything (and a TON of former Packers, James Jones and John Kuhn included have also come out against the entire article), calls it a smear campaign, and stops just short of declaring war on Tyler Dunne, the scribe on the Bleacher Report piece.
All I can say is, LET'S ONLY I DIDN'T SAY FUDGING GO!!!! You know what? I think this article, as incendiary as it was, is going to be a good thing. Now Rodgers is pissed off. Maybe this is what he needs to add some extra fuel to the 4th quarter of his career. Not to say he isn't super motivated anyway, but we all know how much Rodgers LOVES to add an even bigger chip to his shoulder. So let's all thank this jabroni:
For throwing propane on a competitive spirit that was already en fuego. Live look at Aaron Rodgers going into Week 1 at Soldier Field:
PS: Tyler Dunne does have a pretty sick beard. I'm man enough to admit that. When you see a good chin sweater you have to throw all of the other nonsense out.
Double PS: Rodgers could not be more right about Jermichael Finley and Greg Jennings. Those two can not SHUT UP about Rodgers. Their whole post-playing career's revolve around whining about the way Rodgers treated them. Find a new slant, gentlemen.
Triple PS: Is it just me or does Rodgers sound weird in this interview? Like literally the sound of his voice.
