SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - It didn’t take the city of Sheboygan very long to move on the former Boston Store property. The Boston Store closed at the end of January, and Monday night the City Council voted to buy the 5-acre parcel for $500,000. Council President Don Hammond said there are no immediate plans for development, but he predicted the future of the site will be very successful. Hammond said Dave Gass - President of the Business Improvement District - was the first to reach out to the owner of the property, who lives in California. City officials then worked with the BID to consummate the sale. Planning Director Chad Pelishek said the building will probably be demolished and the property re-developed. There will be more on possible plans for the property on Sheboygan’s Morning News on WHBL Wednesday.
